With an aim to promote innovation and entrepreneurship among students across Kerala, the Kerala Startup Mission’s Idea Fest, held at Albertain Institute of Science and Technology, saw the participation of over 85 students from various colleges. They presented solutions for problems in sectors like deeptech, social and rural, electronics and hardware, Biotech, health and medi-tech.
The finalists were shortlisted after the months-long process. Students were shortlisted from the Idea Fests exclusively held for students for Calicut and Kerala University and from hackathon which was organised to address social problems. Digital fabrication challenge and future hack for future technology were also held.
This Idea Fest included the problem statement put forward by the corporate leads such as Ebay, Resinova, UST Global, NISH & Rebenifit. The problem statements were in cyber security, assistive technology & green technology. Selected candidates will get an opportunity to intern with the firms.
Students who came up with their own ideas also pitched them in front of the panel. Out of 1700 applications, 800 were selected and from them, 160 reached the finals. The finals were held at Trivandrum & Kochi.
The winners will be receiving the funding and mentorship support from Kerala Startup Mission.
