Mahindra launches their first automotive assembly plant, Mahindra Ideal Lanka, in Sri Lanka. The assembly plant is a collaboration between Mahindra Group & Ideal Motors Sri Lanka. The plant will roll out its compact sport utility vehicle KUV100. Mahindra Ideal Lanka will assemble KUV100 with a production capacity of 5K units. The joint venture will localise 4 components – batteries, tyres, seats and exhausts.
