Kerala to provide free high-speed internet connection. The project is titled Kerala Fiber Optic Network (KFON). The project aims to provide free high-speed internet to over 20 lakh BPL households. Cabinet has given Rs 1,548 crore for the project. The project is a joint venture of KSEB & Kerala IT Infrastructure & will be completed by December 2020. The project aims to improve IT infrastructure at educational institutions, ports and airport.
