The transition

At a time when public transportation systems like buses, autos and taxis were the premium choices for travel in India, entry of cab hailing platforms like OLA and Uber threw the country’s mobility sector into a frenzy. Cab sharing space took a toll in India with Uber first and then OLA. Gradually, mobility startups became a trend in India.

Ola & Uber
Four wheeler vehicles were the first to welcome mobility startups in India. American MNC Uber was launched in India in 2013. Ola Cabs on the other hand are the babies of India itself. It was founded in 2010 in Gurugram. These two ignited a cab hailing revolution.

Four to two wheelers
After four wheelers, it was the reign of the two wheelers. Bike Taxis like Rapido where user needed to feed in the info on pickup and drop points, suited their convenience. Bike rental startups like VOGO and Bounce where customer can pickup their vehicle and drop at any destination were also subject to appreciation.

Making friends with the environment
Micro mobility startups like Yulu which promoted a healthy and pollution free through electric cycles stood unique among other mobility startups. At times of rising pollution and traffic congestion, mobility startups are creating a difference.
