Apple introduces Daisy robot for recycling purpose

Apple introduces Daisy robot to strengthen recycling programmes. The Recycling Center is in Austin, Texas. Daisy robot can disassemble 200 iPhones per hour. Recovers high-quality minerals compared to other recyclers. 14 minerals including tin, cobalt and lithium can be extracted and recycled.

The robot is less than 20 yards in length. It uses a four-step process to remove an iPhone battery. Apple had bought carbon-free aluminium from Rio Tinto & Alcoa. Plans to share the technology with others are on the anvil.
