India approves emergency use of remdesivir for Covid-19 treatment. Remdesivir is an antiviral drug developed by Gilead Sciences Inc. Remdesivir is the first drug to show improvement in COVID-19 patients in formal clinical trials. U.S. Food and Drug Administration granted emergency use authorization for the drug last month. DCGI approved emergency use of remdesivir limiting to five dose.
