Banks are likely to remain closed for four days from Saturday

The United Forum of Bank Unions’ strike has been called for March 15 and 16

However, as March 13 is a second Saturday, the closure would result in four days

If not called off, all bank branches will remain closed from March 13 to 16

ATMs will be closed on March 16 and 17

The Strike Committee claims that 90% of the workers will participate in the strike

Employees of general insurance companies will not work on March 17

LIC workers will observe a one-day strike on March 18

The strike is against the privatisation of public sector banks and insurance companies

According to the strike committee, privatisation will not save the banks

Non-performing assets created by corporates is one of the problems public sector banks face

In the last eight years, 12 banks have written off Rs 6.3 lakh crore

Also with privatisation, many people will lose their jobs

The committee also said the change would force workers to work longer hours without overtime
