SpaceX to launch its first ocean spaceport ‘Deimos’ next year
The floating spaceport platform is currently under construction
SpaceX acquired two converted oil rigs for the construction of the platform
They will be used for its forthcoming Starship reusable rocket
Spaceports like Deimos are positioned within convenient reach of major hubs around the world
SpaceX can operate a globe-spanning network of hypersonic point-to-point travel using Starships
This will enable ferrying people from destinations as far-flung as Beijing to New York in around 30 minutes
