യുഎഇ വിപണിയിലേക്കുള്ള പ്രവേശനത്തിൽ നിർണായക ചുവടുവെച്ച് ഇന്ത്യയിലെ പ്രമുഖ ഡിജിറ്റൽ പേയ്മെന്റ് പ്ലാറ്റ്ഫോമായ PhonePe . Central Bank of the UAE, രണ്ട് പേയ്മെന്റ് ലൈസൻസുകൾക്കായി കമ്പനിക്ക് അനുമതി നൽകിയതായി PhonePe അറിയിച്ചു. റീട്ടെയിൽ പേയ്മെന്റ്, കാർഡ് സ്കീം, സ്റ്റോർഡ് വാല്യു ഫെസിലിറ്റീസ് എന്നീ രണ്ട് വിഭാഗങ്ങളിലാണ് അനുമതി. എന്നാൽ യുഎഇയിൽ വാണിജ്യാടിസ്ഥാനത്തിൽ സേവനങ്ങൾ ആരംഭിക്കുന്നതിന് മുമ്പ് PhonePe സെൻട്രൽ ബാങ്കിന്റെ അന്തിമ അനുതി നേടേണ്ടതുണ്ട്.

അന്തിമ അനുമതി ലഭിച്ചാൽ യുഎഇയിലെ പ്രാദേശിക ബാങ്കുകൾ, ലൈസൻസുള്ള പേയ്മെന്റ് സർവീസ് പ്രൊവൈഡേഴ്സ്,ടെക്നോളജി കമ്പനികൾ എന്നിവരുമായി സഹകരിച്ച് പ്രവർത്തിക്കാനാണ് PhonePe ലക്ഷ്യമിടുന്നത്. യുഎഇയുടെ ആഭ്യന്തര ഡിജിറ്റൽ പേയ്മെന്റ് സംവിധാനങ്ങളായ Aani, Jaywan എന്നിവയെ സ്വന്തം technology platform ഉപയോഗിച്ച് പിന്തുണയ്ക്കാനുള്ള സാധ്യതകളും കമ്പനി പരിശോധിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്.
ഇന്ത്യയിൽ UPI അധിഷ്ഠിത പേയ്മെന്റുകളിൽ ശക്തമായ സാന്നിധ്യമുള്ള PhonePeയ്ക്ക് 700 ദശലക്ഷത്തിലധികം രജിസ്റ്റേർഡ് യൂസേഴ്സും 50 ദശലക്ഷം മെർച്ചന്റ്സും ഉണ്ടെന്ന് കമ്പനി പറയുന്നു. നിലവിൽ NPCI International Payments Limited-മായുള്ള സഹകരണത്തിലൂടെ യുഎഇയിലെ ചില മെർച്ചന്റ് QR കോഡ് സ്കാൻ ചെയ്ത് ഇന്ത്യൻ ഉപയോക്താക്കൾക്ക് UPI പേയ്മെന്റുകൾ നടത്താനുള്ള സൗകര്യവും PhonePe നൽകുന്നുണ്ട്.
PhonePeയുടെ നിലവിലുള്ള സംവിധാനത്തിൽ നിന്ന് പ്രാദേശികമായി നിയന്ത്രിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന ഒരു പേയ്മെന്റ് ബിസിനസ്സ് എന്ന നിലയിലേക്കുള്ള വിപുലീകരണമാണ് യുഎഇ ലക്ഷ്യമിടുന്നത്. യുഎഇയുടെ digital-first economy ലക്ഷ്യത്തിലേക്കുള്ള ചുവടുവെയ്പ്പാണിതെന്ന് കമ്പനി വ്യക്തമാക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.

Indian digital payments major PhonePe has received in-principle approval from the Central Bank of the UAE for two payment licences, covering retail payment services, card schemes and stored-value facilities.The Walmart-backed fintech must secure final regulatory approval before beginning commercial operations in the UAE.
