EyeROV Technologies, a startup incubated at Maker Village developed its first commercial product EyeROV TUNA, an underwater robotic drone. Johns T Mathai and Kannappa Palaniappan P are the brain behind the development of drone. EyeRov received immense support form Kerala Startup Mission to reach at this stage.
However, the first commercial Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) underwater drone, EYEROV TUNA received its very first order from Naval Physical and Oceanographic Laboratory of DRDO. TUNA to assist NPOL for its various research and development activities.It can can be navigated up to a depth of 50 meter. The Drone can send real-time HD videos and images of ship hulls, undersea cables, bridges moorings and can inspect nuclear power plants, search rescue, naval mine detection. The drone will help to eliminate riskier and costlier manual inspection by divers.
