Chinese automaker BYD becomes the largest maker of ‘Face Masks’. BYD’s Shenzhen facility in China now produces five million masks a day. The plant also produces over 300,000 bottles of disinfectants daily. Covid-19 pandemic led to a surge in demand for Face Masks. China is world’s biggest mask producer.The country produced about 44.8 Mn masks in a day on February 2020. BYD is known in India for manufacturing electric buses.

Task force will be led by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. Task force will regularly contact all stakeholders, obtain feedback and make decisions accordingly. Government is working on packages for affected sectors like tourism and aviation. Businesses across major cities and town are facing a slowdown. PM has asked people of India to observe a self-imposed curfew on March 22.
