കേരളത്തില്‍ സൗജന്യ അതിവേഗ ഇന്റര്‍നെറ്റ് പദ്ധതിയ്ക്ക് (KFON) ഭരണാനുമതി. സംസ്ഥാനത്തെ 20 ലക്ഷം കുടുംബങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് സൗജന്യ അതിവേഗ ഇന്റര്‍നെറ്റ്. KSEBയും കേരളാ സ്റ്റേറ്റ് IT ഇന്‍ഫ്രാസ്ട്രക്ചറും ചേര്‍ന്നാണ് പദ്ധതി നടത്തുന്നത്. Bharat Electronics ltdന്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തിലുള്ള കണ്‍സോര്‍ഷ്യം പ്രോജക്ട് നടപ്പാക്കും. കിഫ്ബി സഹായത്തോടെ നടപ്പാക്കുന്ന പദ്ധതിയ്ക്ക് ആകെ ചെലവ് 1548 കോടി. 2020 ഡിസംബറോടെ പദ്ധതി പൂര്‍ത്തീകരിക്കും.
