Majority MSMEs opt for interest deferment in working capital – SBI. MSMEs are expected to pay the accumulated interest as scheduled or convert it into FITL. The MSME book from banking system stands at around Rs 14 lakh crore. RBI has included deferment of interest on working capital, among its recent measures. The increased limit is applicable up to June 30, 2021.
Retailers, businesses not registered as MSMEs to get guaranteed emergency credit. Eligible borrowers should have an annual turnover up to Rs 100 Cr. 7 Cr traders can avail loans through Guaranteed Emergency Credit Line. Recently, cabinet approved GECL facility by enabling additional funding worth Rs 3 Lakh Cr. Banks were asked to commence lending at a cheaper rate.
ITC to acquire spice making major Sunrise Foods. The acquisition is valued at Rs 2,000 Cr and a 100% stake in Sunrise Foods. Sunrise is a leading spice maker in eastern India with a brand legacy of 70 years. Through the acquisition, ITC aims to boost its foothold in the spice industry. Sunrise Foods had a turnover of around Rs 600 Cr last year.

Digital payment frauds on the rise with customers preferring UPI payments. Post Corona outbreak, nearly half of Indian customers are concerned about digital payments. The findings came as part of a study by YouGov and ACI Worldwide. Nearly one-third of customers had to face card/digital payment fraud.
