Reliance joins hands with Facebook to develop a Super App. The plan is to make a multi-purpose platform similar to Wechat. The app would combine digital payments, social media, gaming, flights and hotel bookings among others. Users could purchase groceries through Reliance Retail, use JioMoney and shop at Ajio. Facebook’s Whatsapp platform and user base will be leveraged for the same. The app would provide RIL with B2C engagement for its consumer businesses and insights on users’ spending habits.

COVID-19: Govt of India extends renewal date for health, motor vehicle insurance policies. New date is set for May 15 and is because of the extension of the nationwide lockdown. The govt has issued a notification allowing policyholders to make payments on or before May 15. Govt aims to mitigate hardships of policyholders whose insurances are due for renewal during the lockdown. Last month, LIC had extended the deadline for premium payment to help policyholders.
