2019ല്‍ ഇന്ത്യയില്‍ ടിക്ക്ടോക്ക് യൂസേഴ്സ് ആപ്പില്‍ ചെലവഴിച്ചത് 550 കോടി മണിക്കൂറുകള്‍. മുന്‍വര്‍ഷവുമായി താരതമ്യം ചെയ്താല്‍ 900 മില്യണ്‍ മണിക്കൂര്‍ വര്‍ധന. 2019 ഡിസംബറിനേക്കാള്‍ Monthly Active Users വര്‍ധിച്ച് 81 മില്യണിലെത്തി.ഡാറ്റ അനലിറ്റിക്സ് സ്ഥാപനമായ App Annie ആണ് റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട് പുറത്ത് വിട്ടത്. ആഗോളതലത്തില്‍ 717 മില്യണ്‍ ആളുകളാണ് നിലവില്‍ ടിക്ക്ടോക്ക് ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നത്. ഫേസ്ബുക്ക് ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്ന സമയം 25.5 ബില്യണ്‍ മണിക്കൂറായും വര്‍ധിച്ചു. #EduTok ഹാഷ്ടാഗ് ഉപയോഗിച്ചുള്ള വീഡിയോയ്ക്ക് 48.7 ബില്യണ്‍ വ്യൂസ് ലഭിച്ചുവെന്ന് Bytedance. ശരാശരി 34 മിനിട്ടോളം ടിക്ക്ടോക്ക് യൂസര്‍ ആപ്പില്‍ സമയം ചെലവഴിക്കുന്നുണ്ടെന്നും റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട്. ടിക്ക്ടോക്കുമായി മത്സരിക്കാന്‍ ഗൂഗിള്‍ Tangi എന്ന ആപ്പ് ഉടന്‍ വ്യാപിപ്പിക്കുമെന്നും അറിയിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്

യൂസേഴ്‌സിന്റെ നമ്പര്‍ സേവ് ചെയ്യാന്‍ ഫേസ്ബുക്കിനോടും ട്വിറ്ററിനോടും കേന്ദ്ര സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ ആവശ്യപ്പെടും. സോഷ്യല്‍ മീഡിയയിലെ ആളുകളെ തിരിച്ചറിയാന്‍ സാധിക്കാത്ത അവസ്ഥയ്ക്ക് അറുതിവരുത്തുകയാണ് ലക്ഷ്യം. പ്രത്യേക കാറ്റഗറിയിലുള്ള സോഷ്യല്‍ മീഡിയ കമ്പനികള്‍ പുതിയ നിയമം പാലിക്കേണ്ടി വരും. ഇതിനായി ഐടി മന്ത്രാലയം പുതുക്കിയ നിയമ നിര്‍ദ്ദേശങ്ങള്‍ നിയമ മന്ത്രാലയത്തിന് അയച്ചുകൊടുത്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. കുട്ടികള്‍ക്കെതിരെയുള്ള ഓണ്‍ലൈന്‍ ചൂഷണമടക്കം പ്രതിരോധിക്കാനുള്ള ശ്രമത്തിലാണ് കേന്ദ്ര സര്‍ക്കാര്‍.
