Bengaluru-based startup Log 9 materials develops CoronaOven for disinfection. The device uses UV-C Light to disinfect everything within 10 minutes. It can be used to disinfect food items, PPE, masks etc.The product has already been listed on Government of India’s e-marketplace. Using this product, masks and PPE kits can be reused instead of littering. It is made available in two variants as a plug-in device & battery-powered.

YouTube witnesses surge in subscriber base during the lockdown. The video streaming platform recorded 20.5% increase in subscribers’ base in India. In the first quarter of 2020, YouTube garnered over 300 Bn views. Average user engagement rose to 4 hours from the previous 1.5 hours. Content related to corona saw 98% surge in views and 19% surge in engagement.
Central Govt to allow industries to use ESI scheme funds for wage payments. A host of industries like MSMEs find it difficult to pay wages after the lockdown. This is because the revenue generation is affected as enterprises remain shut. ESI is a self-financing social security and health insurance scheme. The govt is working on packages to help MSMEs recover from the crisis, said Minister Nitin Gadkari.

Expatriates need to have COVID-19 negative certificate to return home. The one who tested negative can register with NORKA. The government will, then, draw a list keeping priority. It is to facilitate services including quarantine to the returning expats. Registration would not avail priority in ticket booking or reduction in ticket rates.
