National Innovation Foundation (NIF), an autonomous body under the government of India organised its 10th National Competition. NIF aims to nurture creative ideas and technological innovations among higher secondary level students. NIF invites ideas/innovations from the students up to Standard XII for the 10th national competition for children’s ideas and innovations – Dr A P J Abdul Kalam IGNITE Awards 2019. NIF dedicates the IGNITE Awards in the loving memory of Dr Kalam.
Practical and useful ideas/innovations may be given monetary and mentoring aid.For deserving candidates, patents will be filed in their name at no cost to them. Ideas which attract entrepreneurs may get licensed for monetary consideration.
Started in 2008, within nine years, 201 awards have been given to 277 children. The total number of submissions from school children received during the various IGNITE campaigns amounts to 1,54,500. NIF announces the awardees every year during A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s Birthday.
