RBI announces Prepaid Payment Instrument. PPI can be used to purchase goods and services up to Rs 10,000 per month. PPIs will be issued by banks mostly. Non bank PPI issuers can issue PPI after obtaining basic details of the holder. Annual limit of amount loaded should not exceed Rs 1,20,000.
