Mainstage Incubator, a Frankfurt-based startup incubator, has announced its foray into the Indian market. The announcement was made during its first event in Bengaluru – Mainstage Summit 2020. The vision is to help ambitious Indian startups set up a base in Germany and thus reach the European market, says Debasis Chakraborty, Co-founder & Director. Mainstage Founder and ceo Swen Wegner led the workshop on market strategy and scaling up in Germany.
Entrepreneurs, Business Angels, VCs and Corporates also attended the meet. Out of a pool of 50 applicants, five startups-Agrima Infotech, SimplyFI Softech, ETAIOTA, Untap’d & Beagle Security- were chosen for the purpose. The selected startup hails from Karnataka, Kerala, Odisha and Sikkim. The five startups qualified from a pool of 50 applicants in the launchpad program. The launchpad follows a subscription model in which selected startups can pay a fixed monthly subscription retainer with Mainstage Incubator, holding limited or zero equity in startups.
The selected startups got immediate attention from investors and venture capital firms. One startup will be participating in the EV Highway project 2020 between Delhi and Jaipur.
