Mohanlal's Karmi bot to help covid patients in Kochi

Veteran Malayalam actor Mohanlal has joined the coronavirus battle by contributing a robot for healthcare service. Named Kami Bot, the robot will be deployed at the Covid-19 ward in Kalamassery Medical college. The robot is developed by Asimov Robotics, a startup incubated at Maker Village, Kochi.

The robot is distributed by Mohanlal’s Vishwashanti Foundation. The initiative by the actor will boost the significance of startup innovations for the welfare of society.

The robot is capable of carrying up to 25 kilograms. The remote-controlled robot can transport medicines and food to the isolation wards and collect waste materials from there. Thus, healthcare officials can minimise direct exposure to the affected to an extent.

Ernakulam district collector S. Suhas said that the Karmi bot will be handed over to the Kalamassery Medical College after healthcare authorities certify it.
