The Corporate Affairs Ministry sets up a 7-member panel for enhancing audit independence. The panel will examine the comments received to the consultation paper and recommend amendments. The paper had addressed five threats: self-interest, self-review, advocacy, familiarity & intimidation. Amarjit Chopra, KVR Murty, PR Ramesh, Ajay Bahl, Sridhar Pamarthi, NK Dua and Atma Sah are the panel members. The report has been asked to submit by June 30.
