RBI suggests new standards of governance for commercial banks. It is proposed to empower the board of directors to set culture & value for the organisation. Capping tenure of non-promoter CEO at 15 years has also been suggested. It can have a huge impact on promoter-led banks like Kotak Mahindra & Bandhan Bank. RBI said that bank’s board would have oversight over the code of conduct policy.
