Govt to allow cab aggregators to charge drivers 20% commission; surges pricing to 1.5 times of fare

Proposals prior to this suggested capping fees at 10%

Industry experts had warned that a 10% cap would hit revenue and operations of app-based taxis

Aggregator shall be permitted to charge a fare 50% lower than the base fare

Driver of a vehicle integrated with the aggregator shall receive at least 80% of the fare

Rs 25 or 30 shall be the base fare for state governments that haven’t determined the city taxi fare

New guidelines ensure health insurance of at least Rs 5 lakh, to be increased by 5% each year

Will conduct a refreshing training programme once a year
