Sports Ministry to develop 1,000 Khelo India marts by 2024
In a bid to put India as a powerhouse of sports globally
The Khelo India programme was developed to facilitate sports activities at the grassroot level
The key objective of the scheme is to identify talents across the country and provide them with the necessary training
Currently, 2,000 players are supported through this scheme
Govt aims to expand the pool of talent to around 15,000 players in the next six to eight years
