Govt wants WhatsApp to recheck the controversial privacy policy
MeitY, on Friday, filed a counter-affidavit in the Delhi High Court for the same
As per the affidavit, WhatsApp should either roll back its new policy or give users an opt-out option
The policy primarily affects communication between businesses and users
It mandates all users to agree with WhatsApp sharing their data with Facebook
Due to this, many users have switched to alternative platforms like the Signal app
WhatsApp is estimated to have 15 Million business account users in India
