India gets the first consignment of Sputnik V vaccine from Russia
Around 1.5 Lakh doses of the vaccine landed at Dr Reddy’s Laboratories in Hyderabad
The initial shipping will be used as a pilot to line up supply chains for the larger vaccination programme
Further consignments will arrive in the coming weeks
Dr Reddy has partnered with Russia’s RDIF for the vaccine back in 2020
Sputnik V will be the third vaccine to be used in India against the coronavirus
From May 1, all Indian citizens above the age of 18 were made eligible for vaccination
