Facebook launches Clubhouse-rival ‘Live Audio Rooms’
Introduced the feature for public figures and select users in the US
Public figures can invite friends, followers, verified public figures or any listeners in the room to be a speaker
There can be up to 50 speakers and unlimited listeners
Live Audio Room hosts can also select a nonprofit or fundraiser to support their conversation
Audio Rooms is just one among Facebooks’s audio-based product offerings
Facebook is working with creators to further develop and launch ‘Soundbites’
