Tata group to step into the satellite broadband market with Telesat
Telesat is a Canadian satellite communications services provider
Both entities are in the final process of commercial offerings
Tata group’s Nelco had announced the partnership with Telesat in September 2020
It aims to give enterprise broadband services based on Telesat’s Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites
The current decision comes at a time when govt is about to announce its policy for private players’ participation in the segment
Other big players include Elon Musk’s Starlink, Jeff Bezos’s Project Kuiper and Sunil Bharti Mittal-backed One Web
