Google launches first India-only language app for rural children. Google launched the beta version of its app ‘Bolo’. The learning app is optimized for Hindi native speakers. App aims to help teach children reading using speech recognition& text-to-speech technology. ASHER Centre reveals only 50 % students in rural India can confidently read textbook for grade 2. Google to partner with 4 Education Foundation to take the app to more users. App has been piloted across 200 villages in Uttar Pradesh.
