MTR ഫുഡ്സിന്റെ പാരന്റ് കമ്പനിയായ Orkla ഗ്രൂപ്പ് 2017 ല്‍ 50 കോടി രൂപയുടെ വെന്‍ച്വര്‍ ഫണ്ടിങ്ങ് പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചിരുന്നു.1924 ല്‍ Yagnanarayana Maiya ആണ് MTR ഫുഡ്സ് ലോഞ്ച് ചെയ്തത്.

Paytm may acquire Coverfox for $100 Mn-$120 Mn in an all-cash deal. Coverfox is a Mumbai-based online insurance startup. It uses technology & algorithm-based platform for users to compare & buy policies. Paytm will become a direct competitor to PolicyBazaar, if the deal goes through. Coverfox has integrated 35 insurers & offers over 150 policies in motor, life & health insurance.

Bengaluru-based MTR Foods sets up Rs. 50 Cr startup fund. The funding mainly targets startups in food processing business. The 95-year-old company manufactures packaged foods including Idli & dosa. MTR’s parent company Orkla Ventures had announced venture funding in 2017. The company, listed as a Fortune Next 500, registered a revenue of Rs 900 Cr in 2018.
Google develops promising AI that is one step ahead of humans in detecting cancer. The new AI system is able to identify 5 % more cancer cases compared to radiologists. This can potentially increase the survival chance of lung cancer patients. Through deep learning technology, cancerous cells can be detected with the help of a 3D lung scan. A radiologist uses hundreds of 2D images of a CT scan to detect cancer. Google began its research on detecting cancer from 2017. Detecting cancer on its initial stage helps reduce the risk of deaths.
