Sahara enters automobile market by launching ‘Sahara Evolvs’. Sahara Evolvs will offer electric scooters, motorcycles, 3-wheelers & cargo vehicles. Vehicles are powered by lightweight & portable lithium iron batteries. Vehicles are equipped with GPS tracking system. Sahara Evolvs mobile app can track and lock vehicles and request on-road assistance. Average cost of running their EVs is 20paise/km whereas for petrol vehicle it is 2Rs/km.

Pet care tech startup Floap raises seed funding from angel investors. Bengaluru-based platform provides pet care solutions to pet owners. Floap connects pet owners with adoption centres, trainers and other service providers. The company conducts ‘Pet Talks’, an awareness program on animal therapy and nutrition. Floap was founded by Sruthi Nithin in May, 2018.

SoftBank to invest up to $500 Mn in foodtech unicorn Swiggy. This will be SoftBank’s first direct bet in an Indian foodtech. SoftBank has also invested in Grofers, Ola, Flipkart, OYO and many more. Bengaluru-based Swiggy is active in 175 cities with 1.9 Lakh delivery partners. Swiggy raised $1.5 Bn so far and is valued at $3.3 Bn.
