Health Tech startup HealthAssure raises $2.5 Mn funding from Blume Ventures. HealthAssure is a health aggregator which consumerizes primary healthcare. The Mumbai-based startup has raised $ 4 Mn till now. The company has a strong network of 4.5K primary care centres in 1.1K cities. The firm offers dental, pediatrics, ophthalmology and diagnostic services across the country. HealthAssure also connects insurers and corporates through its platform.
Zomato acquires food donation startup Feeding India. Feeding India is an NGO working to solve food wastage, hunger & malnutrition in India. As part of the acquisition, Zomato will fund entire salaries of the team. Feeding India aims to serve at least 100 Mn underprivileged people every month. Zomato will fund the development of Feed.ing app which connects donors & volunteers. Feeding India will continue to be a non-profit organization after the funding.
American data networking company, Linksys launches Cloud Networking Manager. Linksys Cloud Manager targets SMB and startup network without licensing fee. The Cloud Manager helps in cost-cutting and increasing operational efficiencies. Authorized users can remotely monitor, manage, troubleshoot wireless networks in real-time. Cloud Manager is available in the price range of Rs 25,000 to 35,000.
Cab aggregator Uber to set up its biggest hub in Bengaluru. Uber plans to make India its global capital of R&D activities. The company is in talks to take on lease 7 Lakh sq ft office in the city. Uber will use the space as an engineering centre & map department. Earlier, its competitor, Ola started setting up its advanced tech centre in the US.
