India approves emergency use of remdesivir for Covid-19 treatment. Remdesivir is an antiviral drug developed by Gilead Sciences Inc. Remdesivir is the first drug to show improvement in COVID-19 patients in formal clinical trials. U.S. Food and Drug Administration granted emergency use authorization for the drug last month. DCGI approved emergency use of remdesivir limiting to five dose.

ByteDance to set up a second corporate entity in India. The new entity will provide IT-enabled support to all ByteDance platforms. TikTok India and Helo India will benefit from the initiative. ByteDance India Service Ltd currently operates with 500 staff. ByteDance also has 15 R&D centres across the globe.
Union cabinet announces policy changes for the MSME sector. MSMEs with an investment of Rs1 Cr and turnover of Rs Cr will come under micro-units. Firms with an investment of Rs10 cr and turnover of Rs50 cr will be classified as small units. Units with Rs50 cr investment and Rs250 cr turnover will be classified as medium units. The changes are in accordance with the Atmanirbhar Bharat campaign.
