മുന്‍നിര ഫയല്‍ ട്രാന്‍സ്ഫറിംഗ് സൈറ്റായ WeTransfer കേന്ദ്രം നിരോധിച്ചു. ലോക്ഡൗണ്‍ വന്നതോടെ വര്‍ക്ക് ഫ്രം ഹോമില്‍ ഏറെപ്പേര്‍ ആശ്രയിച്ചിരുന്നതാണ് WeTransfer. ഒറ്റ യൂസില്‍ 2 GB വരെ ഫ്രീയായി ഫയല്‍ ട്രാന്‍സ്ഫറിന് അനുവദിച്ചിരുന്ന WeTransfer വീഡിയോയും ഇമേജുകളും വലിയ ഡോക്‌മെന്റുകളും ഷെയറുചെയ്യാന്‍ ഈസിയായിരുന്നു. കേന്ദ്ര ടെലികോം ഡിപ്പാര്‍ട്ട്‌മെന്റ് ഇന്റര്‍നെറ്റ് ദാതാക്കളോട് WeTransferന്റെ മൂന്ന് URL കള്‍ ബ്‌ളോക്ക് ചെയ്യണമെന്ന് ആവശ്യപ്പെടുകയായിരുന്നു. ദേശീയ താല്‍പര്യവും പൊതുജന താല്‍പര്യവും മുന്‍നിര്‍ത്തി WeTransfer നിരോധിക്കുന്നുവെന്നാണ് നോട്ടീസിലുള്ളത്. ഇന്റര്‍നെറ്റ് സേവന ദാതാക്കള്‍ക്ക് ആദ്യം ആയച്ച രണ്ട് നോട്ടീസുകളില്‍ പ്രത്യേക URL കള്‍ നിരോധിക്കാന്‍ ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു. മൂന്നാമത്തെ DoT ലെറ്ററിലാണ് WeTransfer സൈറ്റ് പൂര്‍ണ്ണമായും ബാന്‍ ചെയ്യാന്‍ ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടത്. വിലക്ക് നീക്കാന്‍ ചര്‍ച്ച Reliance Jio, Vodafone Idea, Hathway എന്നീ ഇന്റര്‍നെറ്റ് പ്രൊവൈഡോഴ്‌സ് WeTransfer പൂര്‍ണ്ണമായും ബ്ലോക്ക് ചെയ്ത് കഴിഞ്ഞു. ‘You are not authorised to access this webpage as per the DoT…

Govt of India has banned the popular file transferring site WeTransfer. During the lockdown, people who have been working from home relied heavily on WeTransfer as it allowed free file transfer of up to 2 GB in single use.
