Harshil Mittal's Let's Feed Bengaluru creates a difference by delivering free food for the needy

It is a harsh reality that hunger and poverty existing in a vicious circle are the leading causes of deaths. Harshil Mittal, a  26-year-old software engineer from Bengaluru, decided to fight that reality by adopting a simple method. If you manage to cook some extra food at home, that extra portion is enough to fill the stomach of a needy person. Harshil and his friends started a voluntary organisation, Lets Feed Bengaluru, to start a social revolution and to fight social evils like hunger and poverty.

From 40 packets to feeding millions
Let‘s Feed Bengaluru began by delivering 40 packets of food items to slum dwellers. The organisation conducts a food donation drive one Sunday every month. Details regarding the food drive will be announced beforehand through Facebook. Participation is voluntary for interested candidates.

It’s not about money, Its about food
What differentiates Let‘s Feed Bengaluru from other NGOs is that they don’t accept money from people. Those who are willing to donate food can become registered donors in Let’s Feed Bengaluru. Currently, many working professionals, businessmen and students are working as donors or volunteers in Let‘s Feed Bengaluru.

Feeding millions
As a first step, Harshil and his friends approached almost all houses in Tilak Nagar, Bengaluru, looking for food donors. They kick started Let‘s Feed Bengaluru by providing food for 40 slum dwellers. Today, Let‘s Feed Bengaluru has established their foothold in 5 cities, feeding over 3 Lakh people

Food wrapped up in love
In 2016, Let‘s Feed Bengaluru renamed themselves to Let‘s Spread Love. Harshil and friends work with an aim to spread selfless love in the form of food to the community.
