Shortly after the Govt of India banned Chinese apps including TikTok, they got removed from app stores. 24 hours after the ban, TikTok was out of Apple and Google Stores. Although AppStore and Google Play Store didn’t send any notification, the apps were removed from searches. The Centre banned 59 Chinese apps citing security reasons in the wake of the recent conflicts on the border. Meanwhile, apps substituting the Chinese apps have already entered the market. Mitron and Roposo have been trending replacing China’s TikTok. Similarly, file transfer apps like Filesgo have filled the gap left by SHAREit. Let’s take a look at some notable alternatives for the banned apps:

  • · UC Browser- Google Chrome, Firefox, Opera
  • · Clash of Kings- Lord Mobiles, Age of Kings, Envoy, War and Order
  • · Likee- Mitron, Roposo
  • · Xender- Airdrop, Filesgo
  • · Sweet Selfie- Adobe Photoshop camera
  • · Clean Master- AVG Cleaner
  • · CamScanner- Microsoft Office Lense
  • · Mi Video Call- Google Duo, FaceTime
  • · Helo- Sharechat
  • · Club Factory- Myntra, AJIO, Flipkart, Amazon India
  • · UC News- News Point

In this way, any popular Chinese app can now be replaced with Indian or non-Chinese apps. Social media audiences are vouching for these alternatives too.
