Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at Delhi AIIMS
On Twitter, he urged those who are eligible, to get vaccinated
He also congratulated the efforts of doctors and scientists in developing vaccines
The current vaccination drive targets those who are above 60 and those above 45 with comorbidities
They will avail free shots from over 10,000 government vaccination centres
More than 16,000 private and govt hospitals have been permitted to start the next phase
Hospitals empanelled under Ayushman Bharat, PMJAY, CGHS will start vaccination on March 1
Registrations will open at 9 am at cowin.gov.in and the Aarogya Setu app.
