Nirmala Sitharaman announces collateral-free loans for MSMEs. Comes under the Atmanirbhar Bharat package worth Rs 20 Lakh Cr. The package will be released in 14 tranches, of which 6 are for MSMEs. Investment limit for MSMEs will be revised upwards. Rs 50,000 Cr in equity for viable and eligible MSMEs. Rs 20,000 Cr for stressed MSMEs via subordinate debt-based scheme. Additional criteria for turnover to be brought in for MSMEs.

Samsung India to deploy Samsung Finance+ services at home. Samsung Finance+ is a digital lending platform. It provides financial help to Galaxy brand customers in India. In India, the service was developed at Samsung’s R&D facility in Bengaluru. Samsung Finance+ service is now available across 12K dealership centres across 300 cities.
Lockdown: India’s industrial output shrank by an all-time low in March 2020. Index of industrial production contracted by 16.7% after lockdown. Output of manufacturing sector went down 20% whereas electricity generation fell 7%. Industrial output had recorded a growth of 4.5% earlier in February 2020. The findings were released by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.

Govt. extends seeding of Aadhaar with ration cards till September 30, 2020. No genuine beneficiary/household shall be denied from the entitled quota of food grains. The Food Ministry has given instructions to all states & UTs on the same. Food grains under NFSA shall not be denied due to the failure of Aadhaar authentication. At present, nearly 90 per cent of 23.5 crore ration cards are linked with Aadhaar.
