Reliance Jio to build submarine cable systems to connect India with Singapore and Europe
The India-Asia-Xpress (IAX) system will connect India eastbound to Singapore
It will ensure express connectivity from Mumbai and Chennai to Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore
The India-Europe-Xpress (IEX) system will connect India westbound to the Middle East and Europe
it will extend India’s connectivity to Italy, landing in Savona, Middle East and North Africa
These systems will provide more than 200Tbps of capacity, spanning over 16,000 kilometres
IAX and IEX will help consumers and enterprise users access the content and cloud services in and out of India
IAX is expected to be ready by mid of 2023 and IEX by early 2024
