MGM has a huge collection of over 4000 movies and popular TV shows
Produced many milestone films like ‘Rocky’, ‘The Silence of the Lambs’, ‘Robocop’ and ‘Legally Blonde’
MGM had previously held talks with Apple and Netflix
The acquisition has been reported by American Media like ‘The Information’ and ‘Variety’
MGM has been holding selling talks since December 2020
Through the deal, MGM aims to capitalise on the expansion of streaming services
Both MGM and Amazon declined to comment on the speculations
