ഹിമാചൽ പ്രദേശിലെ Lahaul താഴ്വരയിലെ കർഷകരാണ് കൃഷി ചെയ്യുന്നത് Himalayan Bioresource Technology (IHBT)യുടെ സഹായത്തോടെയാണ് കൃഷി 300 ഹെക്ടർ സ്ഥലമാണ് IHBT കൃഷിക്കായി തെരഞ്ഞെട‌ുത്തിട്ടുളളത് രാജ്യത്തെ കായം ഇറക്കുമതിക്ക് വർഷം 100 മില്യൺ ഡോളറാണ് മുടക്കുന്നത് അഫ്ഗാനിസ്ഥാൻ, ഇറാൻ, ഉസ്ബക്കിസ്ഥാൻ എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നാണ് ഇറക്കുമതി 2019 ൽ മാത്രം 1500 ടണ്ണാണ് 942 കോടി രൂപ മുടക്കി ഇറക്കുമതി ചെയ്തത് രാജ്യത്ത് Ferula asafoetida ചെടികളുടെ ദൗർലഭ്യമാണ് കൃഷിക്ക് തടസ്സമാകുന്നത് IHBT ലാബിൽ അഗ്രോടെക്നോളജിയിലൂടെയാണ് വിത്തുകൾ വികസിപ്പിച്ചെ‌ടുത്തത് ഹെക്ടറിന് 3 ലക്ഷം രൂപവരെ അഞ്ചു വർഷത്തിനുളളിൽ കൃഷിക്ക് ചെലവ് വരും അഞ്ചാം വർഷം മുതൽ മിനിമം 10 ലക്ഷം രൂപ വരെ കർഷകർക്ക് ആദായം ലഭിച്ചു തു‌ടങ്ങും ഹിമാലയൻ, ലഡാക്ക്, ഉത്തരാഖണ്ഡ്, അരുണാചൽ മേഖലകൾ കൃഷിക്ക് അനുയോജ്യമാണ് കൃഷി, ആരോഗ്യം, പ്രതിരോധം തുടങ്ങിയവയിൽ ഇറക്കുമതി ഒഴിവാക്കുകയാണ് കേന്ദ്രലക്ഷ്യം
